支援先CUFI（ウガンダ意識向上協会）から、ウガンダ北部にあるグルのメデ村に行ったときの写真と報告が届きました。2014年8月25日から28日まで滞在したそうです。

日本から送ってもらったノートや鉛筆を受け取った子どもたちは、最近習った歌を笑顔で歌い、踊ってくれたそうです。日本からの贈り物に対し、お礼の気持ちを、ということだそうです。

その後、寄宿舎のある学校で勉強している子どもたちの学費を支払い、グルから首都カンパラに戻りました。

~~Brief contents of the report~~
They(Children) not only get food and sweet bans, but also pencils and note books to write in when they return back to school. After eating, getting the note books and pencils which was send to us from Japan, the children offered to sing and dance the new song that they had learnt recently with very big smile. They sent their greetings and thanks for all these gifts. And we cleared the school fees of the children that are studying in boarding school. We are so glad that the trip was very successful.
館山病院内ギャラリーで、8月25日から9月5日まで「安房の高校生による支援活動とウガンダ子ども絵画展」が開催されました。かつて内戦直後の子どもたちの絵は、鉛筆で戦闘シーンを描くものが多くありました。しかし現在では色鉛筆で描かれた日常の様子や動物の絵などに変わってきました。会場には、こうしたウガンダの子どもたちの絵とともに、安房の高校生が文化祭の時に現地ウガンダの様子を伝えるために作成したポスターなども展示されました。

2014年で10回目となる「安房・平和のための美術展」。8月22日から31日まで、南房総市のとみうら枇杷倶楽部ギャラリーで開催されました。今年は過去最高となる81人の作品が並びました。
同美術展は、千葉県安房地域を中心に活動している様々なジャンルのアーティストたちが、世界の平和と美しい地球環境を次世代に引き継ごうと、2005年に始めたチャリティ美術展。作品のジャンルは、油彩画・水彩画、陶芸、彫刻、刺繍、写真、ステンドグラスなど、多岐にわたります。
No.1 「安房・平和のための美術展」ポスター／The poster of art exhibition
今年も美術展のポスターにはウガンダの子どもの絵が使用され、その絵には「Going to school is a responsibility for all children」と書かれていました。ウガンダでは、1997年より初等教育無償化政策（中等教育無償化政策は2007年開始）が始まり、就学率が向上しました。しかし、学校数や教師数の不足、労働力の不足から中退する子どももいるなど、子どもや教育を取り巻くさまざまな問題があります。また、教育に対する親の理解もなければ、子どもが学校へ通いつづけることは難しいです。教育こそが地域発展の土台になっていくことを考えれば、喫緊の課題であり（もちろん日本もですが・・・）、地域と教育の関係は切っても切り離せない問題といえます。

”Art Exhibition for Peace in Awa 2014″ was held on August 22nd to 31st. This exhibition started since 2005 by artists who works at Awa region. This exhibition reached 10th anniversary in this year. More than 80 artists attended this exhibition.

6月28・29日に私立安房西高校で校内文化祭が開催されました。安房西高校JRC部は、昨年夏、安房高校JRC部が取り組んでいたウガンダ支援活動を引き継ぎました。そして今年の校内文化祭で、ウガンダ支援バザーを開催。文房具などのバザー用品の仕分け、値段付け、陳列をし、準備万端な状態で、在校生や先生方、保護者の方、地域の方々を呼び込みました。

文化祭当日は、JRC部の活動の記録ファイルを並べたり、ウガンダの現状や支援活動のあゆみをまとめた模造紙を展示しました。文房具などの販売のほか、ウガンダの子どもたちの絵を用いたハガキを販売しました。

また、これまでウガンダ支援に取り組んでいた安房南高校の卒業生や安房高校の卒業生も集まり、バザーに協力しました。安房南高校からスタートしたウガンダ支援活動が、安房高校、そして安房西高校へと引き継がれると同時に、地域へと支援の輪が広がり続けています。

Uganda Supporting Activities by JRC in Awa-Nishi High School Festival!!
School festival was held in Awa-Nishi High School on June 28th and 29th. The JRC club took over Uganda Supporting activities from JRC club of Awa High School last summer. In this year, JRC held supporting bazaar in Awa-Nishi school festival.
The recorder file of activity of the JRC section was put in order on the cultural festival day, and the present condition of Uganda and the development of support service were summarized and exhibited. The postcard using the picture of the children of Uganda besides sale of stationery etc. was sold.
Moreover, the graduates of the Awa-Minami High School and the graduates of the Awa High School who were addressing the Uganda support until now also gathered, and it cooperated in the bazaar.

昨年に引き続き、桜が咲く庭でおいしい料理をいただきながら、NPOメンバーやその家族、友人たちと交流を深めました。65名の方が参加されました。
この場を借りて、ウガンダ支援バザーとして本やウガンダの子どもたちが描いた絵を使ったポストカード、NPOメンバーの協力による手づくりクッキーやサザエの販売を行いました。ガーデンパーティーもウガンダ支援バザーも盛況のうちに終わりました。

【Garden Party on April 13th】
NPO members, the family and friends exchange each other with having delicious foods at garden which cherry blossoms are in flower. 65 people gathered here.
We held Uganda Supporting Bazaar. We sold books, post card which painted by Ugandan children, cookies and turban shells by NPO member’s cooperation. Garden Party and Uganda Supporting activity were a great success.

安房南高校の平和学習から始まったウガンダ支援活動は、今年で20年目を迎えます。支援活動は、安房南高校から安房高校、そして現在は私立安房西高校JRC部に引き継がれています。
安房西高校JRC部では、6月28日・29日の文化祭でウガンダ支援バザーを行います。その事前準備として、安房西高校JRC部とNPOメンバーで、今日バザー用品の仕分け作業を行いました。約20名の方にご協力いただき、スムーズに作業を行うことができました。
また、ウガンダ支援に寄付をいただき、ありがとうございました。

【Advance preparation for Uganda Supporting Bazaar on April 6th】
Uganda supporting activity which started from peace education in Awa-Minami High School comes around 20th anniversary. The activity is taken over from Awa-Minami, Awa, and Awa-Nishi High School (JRC).
JRC of Awa-Nishi High School will hold Ugandan Supporting Bazaar at school festival in June 28th and 29th. As the advance preparations, the JRC members and NPO members gathered and classified goods today. About 20 people came and the preparation of bazaar finished smoothly.

ウガンダ支援バザー in 館山病院感謝祭
創業122年を迎える館山病院で、「秋の感謝祭」として、駐車場広場で音楽やエイサー、模擬店などが行われました。その一環として、NPO法人安房文化遺産フォーラムでは、ウガンダ支援バザーを行いました。安房西高校JRC部のみなさんも協力してくれました。会場では、ウガンダの子どもたちが描いた絵を使ってつくった絵葉書も販売しました。

Uganda Bazaar in Thanksgiving Day of Tateyama Hospital
Tateyama Hospital will greet 122 anniversaries since it was established. As a Thanksgiving Day, music performances and stalls were held at the hospital. Awa Cultural and Heritage forum also held Uganda Bazaar. JRC Club Students at Awa 西 High school cooperated the Bazaar. Picture postcards painted by Uganda children were sold.
