Re: Congratulating message upon your successful completion of your studies in Awa High School.
On behalf of CUFI, Awa Minami Tailoring School, Kitalya Primary School and that of myself, I take this opportunity to congratulate Awa High School JRC Club members upon successful completion of your studies in Awa High School.
At Awa High School, you have not only learnt academics, but you have been taught and exposed to international friendship and understanding through JRC Club. I believe you have been shaped and prepared to become good leaders of tomorrow as you continue to pursue your education in higher institution of learning. Continue building upon this good foundation that has been given to you and your future will be so bright.
We thank you very much for your kind hearts towards us, for caring and loving Ugandan children, for willingness to share and listen and for all the wonderful gifts that you were able to ship towards us both monetary and material during your time at Awa High School JRC. Thanks for the game of skip rope which is giving lots of joy as the children play it. Each time they will be playing it, they will be remembering and thinking about you.
We thank the head teacher and other teachers as well, the School staff that helped you while at school in different ways. We also thank Mr. Nobuo Aizawa who has stood between us for all that long time and soon we will be cerebrating twenty years of working together. ウガンダより活動報告が届きました。
以下、活動の様子を伝えてくれたメールの内容です。
グル(ウガンダ北部の都市)の子供たちを取り巻く諸問題に取り組むため、２週間以上そこで
過ごしていました。グルへの出張では好結果を得られ、それを報告できることをうれしく思います。
なんとかグルタウン周辺にある寄宿制の学校へ６人の孤児を入れることができました。彼らの学校の
授業料やほかの必要とされているものも１００％支払うことができました。
こちらの学校は２０１３年２月４日に１学期が始まりました。私は支援している子供たちが新しい学校
へ入ることが可能となるよう調整するため急いでグルへ行かなければなりませんでした。これらの
うち４人は７年生で、２人の女の子と２人の男の子、ほかの男の子２人は、中学校へ入学しました。
今朝、私は贈り物を届けるためにキタリア小学校へ行き、安房高校JRCによって贈られた遊び
道具を持って行きました。ま子供たちがこの遊び道具で楽しく遊んでいる間、何枚か写真を撮る
ことができました(＊次のブログに掲載します)。彼らのお礼のメッセージは彼らの目の様子を
見れば簡単に読み取れると思いますが、あなた方がリクエストしたように子供たちは絵を
できる限り早く描くことを約束してくれました。このキタリアへの出張で美術展に向けて描くのに
使われる用紙を提供することもできました。
【Report】 We received an activity report from Uganda!
The following is active report.
I spent over two weeks working on issues concerning the children in Gulu. I am so happy to say that the trip there was very successful and we managed to put six orphans children in good boarding schools around Gulu town and their school fees and other school requirement paid 100%.
The schools here opened on 4th. Feb. 2013 for their first term and I had to travel to Gulu quickly in order to arrange for the children we support to be admitted in their new schools. Four of these children are in primary seven, two girls and two boys and the other two are boys who have entered senior one.
This morning I was able to travel to Kitalya Primary school to give out the gifts and the games that were sent by the Awa High School JRC students and I was also able to take some photos while the children were enjoying this game. Their message of thanks can easily be seen in their eyes, but they promised to write to you soon as they will be painting some pictures as you have requested (*Please see the next blog.). On this trip to Kitalya, I was also able to provide more of the art paper that will be used to draw the pictures for exhibition.

します。また、みなさんが資金を募り、その資金を愛沢伸雄先生を通して私たちに送って
くださったことに対し感謝申し上げます。私たちはその資金をCUFIの銀行口座にて受け取った
こと、そして安房南洋裁学校の円滑な運営に向けて資金を有効に使っていくことをお知らせ
できることを嬉しく思います。
「安房・平和のための美術展」はこれまでの間私たちを支援し続けてくれ、私たちはこのことに
嬉しい気持ちでいっぱいです。私たちはあなた方を紹介してくれた愛沢伸雄先生との協働で行う
素晴らしい活動にも感謝しています。わたしたちがあなたがたのことを知って以来、建設的な

The proceeds from an exhibition of works in “Exhibition for Peace in Awa” were
sent Uganda CUFI as supporting funds.
We received message of thanks to “Exhibition for Peace in Awa” from CUFI,
Mr. Stuart Sempala.
The following is the content of the message;
~~Massage of Thanks to “Art Exhibition for Peace in Awa”~~
Dear brothers and sisters of “Art Exhibition for Peace in Awa,
On behalf of CUFI and Awa Minami Tailoring School in Uganda, we greet you
so much with love and thank you for the funds which you raised and handed
over to Mr. Nobuo Aizawa to forward to us. We are happy to inform you that
the funds were received on CUFI bank account and are going to be used well
towards the smooth running of Awa Minami Tailoring School.
“Art Exhibition for peace in Awa” has been supporting us for sometime now and
we are very grateful for this. We appreciate the good work that you do with the
collaboration of Mr. Nobuo Aizawa who introduced us to you. We are so pleased
that ever since we come to know you, we have been moving forward in a
positive direction. CUFI has grown, Awa Minami Tailoring School has overcome
problems that seemed to big for us and the community has benefited from the
connection between us of which we thank you so much.
We take this time to thank all the members that supported in raising the funds,
Mr. Nobuo Aizawa sent us a photograph of two of you handing the funds to him,
we are glad to have it and also a word of thanks goes to Miss Satomi Kawabe

8月31日から9月9日に枇杷倶楽部ギャラリー・展示室で「ART FOR THE EARTH
2012 －第8回 安房・平和のための美術展－」が開催されました。今年の美術展の
ポスターには、支援を続けてきたウガンダの子どもたちの絵が用いられました。
No. 1 安房・平和のための美術展ポスター
/ The poster of Art Exhibition for Peace in Awa
ポスターの絵に描かれている鳥は、ウガンダの国鳥である「カンムリヅル」です。
平和のための美術展は、安房地域にゆかりのあるアーティストたちが集まり、世界の平和と
人々の幸せを願って2005年より毎年行われています。今年は約60名のアーティストが参加し、
油彩画、水彩画、写真、陶芸、人形、彫刻など様々なジャンルの作品が並びました。
どの作品にも「 美しい地球と平和をいつまでも」という強い想いが込められています。
作品等の売り上げによる収益は、「東日本大震災の復興支援金」と「ウガンダの子どもたち」に
役立てられます。
美術展の会場には、ウガンダの子どもたちの絵や安房南洋裁学校などの写真も展示されました。

“ART FOR THE EARTH 2012 – Art Exhibition for Peace in Awa-”
was held from August 31th to September 9th, 2012. Picture painted by
children in Uganda was used for the poster of Art Exhibition for Peace
in Awa in this year.

This Art Exhibition is held every year since 2005. Artists who attend
this Art Exhibition hope for the world peace and the happiness of people.
About 60 artists attended this Art Exhibition in this year, and various
genres such as oil paintings, watercolor paintings, photographs, ceramic art,
dolls, and sculptures was displayed. All Artists put strong feelings of
“foever beautiful planet and peace” into their works. The proceeds from an
exhibition of works would be made use of children in Uganda and financial
support for the Great East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction.
Pictures painted by Ugandan children and photos of Awa-Minami Tailoring
School etc. were also displayed there.

8月26日にNPO安房文化遺産フォーラムのメンバーの親睦を兼ねて、
ウガンダの安房南洋裁学校の支援バザーが開催されました。支援バザーは、
かにた婦人の村の協力を得て行われました。約30名が集まり、和やかで
楽しい会となりました。

English Summary
A social gathering by members of NPO (Awa Cultural and
Heritage Forum) and supporting bazaar of Awa-Minami Tailoring
School in Uganda were held on August 26th. Supporting bazaar
was done with the cooperation of the Kanita Women’s Village.
About 30 members gathered in this event, and it was peaceful
and enjoyable meeting.
