私たちの子どもの２人をあなたに紹介します。１人はシャーと呼ばれ左端の写真で私と一緒にいます。こちらはオティムの兄弟で、彼は今エンテベ近くのキスビ神学校のシニア５年生です。これはこの郡で一流校の一つで、粒よりの学生だけを受け入れています。シャーはこの学校の上位学生の１人で、多くの人々が彼に注目していることをあなたに伝えることができて嬉しいです。
次の写真にはチャールスという名前の若い少年がいます。彼もまたしばらくの間私たちと共にいて、多くの面で私たちは彼の世話に貢献しています。彼は今中部地区に創立されたルウェロディストリクトで学んでいて、シニア３年生です。彼はできる限り本に取り組んでいて、激励も必要です。

Music, Dance and Drama
In these photos, I am glad to introduce to you two of our children. One is called Shaa who appears on your far left with me in the photo. This is the brother to Otim and he is now in senior 5 in Kisubi seminary near Entebbe. This is one of the top schools in the Country and it takes the cream of students. Shaa is one of the top students in this school and I am glad to inform you that many people are putting their eyes on him.
Next to that picture is another young boy by the name of Charles Wokorach. He has also been with us for some time now and we are continuing looking after him in many ways. He is now studying in Luwero District found in the central region and he is in senior 3. He tries as much as he can in his books and requires some encouragement as well.
The other photos shows Catherine, Otim being involved in music dance and drama at their school music festival that was held during our visit there.
In the effort of getting these children from the village to the boarding school that they go to, it is not easy as you can see in the photo attached. We have to cross this river and there is no other way but to go through this . This has damaged our car and soon we will be trying to replace it since it is beginning to ask for repair very often, but it has served us in many ways and we give thank for it.

最初の写真に、私との集合写真にソロモンとジェーンそしてキャサリンという名前の成長した生徒たちがいます。たいてい私は学期の終わりに北部に行き子どもたちが村に戻る手配をし、学校の休暇が終わると北部に戻り、彼らの学校必需品を手に入れ学費を銀行に支払います。銀行伝票でおわかりのように多額の現金が関わっていることから、私はそれを個人的に行っています。
２番目の写真は私たちのフィールドオフィサー、ピーター氏で、視察日に子どもたちを訪問します。彼はよく働く若者で、彼が私たちと共に働いてくれることはとても幸せです。
３番目の写真は私たちが支援しているもう１人の子どもで、名前をオティムといいグルのパウルス２世大学の３年生です。
４番目の写真はソロモンです。北部のジュバロード沿線に創立されたリストアリーダーシップ高校と呼ばれる学校での写真です。

School fees support towards the Mede orphans
In the first picture is the group photo of me with the grown up students by the names of Solomon, Jane and Catherine. Usually I travel to the North during the end of the school term to make arrangement for the children to go back to the village and then after the school holidays I travel back to the North to get their school requirements and also pay their school fees in the bank. I do that personally because of the big amount of cash involved as you can see on the bank slips. attached also is one of the reports of our students. this one belongs to Catherine Amono who is doing well in her studies as well as others.
the second photo shows our field officer Mr. Peter who visits the children during visitation days. He is a hard working young man and we are so happy having him working with us. The third photo shows another child we support and his name is Otim and he is in senior three in Pope Paul II College in Gulu.. The fifth photo is that of Solomon at his school called Restore Leadership High School which is found along Juba rood in North.

Teaching the youth the beauty of volunteering
Please see more of the activities being done at Mede village. In one of the pictures you can see the old lady who is the pastor of the Church in this community. She can read the bible in the local language and through this coming together, she believes that the problems of the community can be solved as family with a little help from the well wishers and friends. the two girls seen reading the bible are some of our children that came into our hands when they were just babies and now they are grown up. one on your left hand is Jane, she is in senior two in a school called Pope Paul senior secondary school in Gulu. The other one on your right hand is called Catherine, who is also in the same school in senior three. This school is one of the best schools in the Northern region. They are 100% being supported by us both in terms of school fees, school uniform, school requirements and transport going and coming back to the village. during the school holidays, they work as volunteers in this village by helping the old and young ones wherever possible.teaching

私たちがこの地域に関わってからしばらく経ちます、私たちがここへ入った時には赤ん坊だった子どもたちは添付の写真であなたが見られるように、今では大きく成長しています。彼らはまだ学校にいて、学費の支払いや学業に必要なことで私たちの支援を受けています。私が話題にしている成長した子どもたちは15人で、このうち６人がグルとルウェロ地区の全寮制学校にいます。
これらの成長した子どもたちは、私たちが食べ物や他の物を配っているときに、若い子どもたちをまとめる手助けをしてくれます。彼らはまた礼拝時間に、礼拝をリードし助けてくれます。彼らはまた、子どもたちの世話を手助けし、彼らが清潔にしているよう気をつけてくれます。また、子どもたちが配給を受けているときには列に並び順番がくるまで辛抱強く待つ規律を教えます。
子どもが一切れのパンを手に持って笑い幸せそうにしているのを見るといつも私は嬉しくなります。このような機会がこの後ももう１日ありますように、これが全能の神への私の日々の祈りです。

We have trained good volunteers
We have been in this area for some time now, and the children who were babies by the time we got in, are now grown up as you can see in some of the photos attached. They are still in school and are being supported by us in terms of paying school fees and all their academic requirements. The grown up children I am talking about are 15 in number and out of these, six are in boarding school in Gulu and Luwero Districts. I will attach their picture in the coming email
These grown up children help us in organizing the young one when we are giving out food and other items. They also help during Church time by leading the church service, they also help in looking after the young ones and seeing to it that they are clean etc. They teach them the discipline of being in line while being served and waiting patiently until their turn comes.
I am always so pleased whenever I see a child smiling and happy with a piece of bread in his or her hand and it is my daily prayer to God almighty that, let there be another chance like this one more day after this.
今回は、ウガンダ北部のグルから90キロ離れた地域（メデ村）での活動の様子をお伝えします。

これはグルの町からおよそ90kmにあるメデ村です。私たちはそこで、子どもを含む地域の人たちの状況を改善するため、コミュニティとともに取り組んでいます。多くの孤児とこの子どもたちの面倒をとても苦労しながらみている年老いた祖母たちがいます。彼らは多くの場合具合が悪く、お腹をすかせており貧困に苦しんでいます。私たちのフィールドオフィサー、ピーター・オラ氏を通じて、定期的に私たちは彼を現地に派遣し、子どもたちの世話をする高齢の祖母たちを支援する食料を届けています。
私たちは食料を届けるだけでなく神の言葉も届けます。彼らは愛を持って神を信頼し、立ち上がり前に進むよう励まされます。私たちはマンゴーの木の下に地域社会の教会をスタートさせ、彼らは毎週日曜日、祈りと若者のための日曜学校に集まります。

This is Mede village which is about 90 km from Gulu town where we work with the community to up lift the condition of the community members including children. There are many orphans and old grand mothers who work so hard looking after these kids, who most often are sick, hungry and poverty stricken. Through our field officer Mr. Peter Oola periodically we send him to deliver some food support to the elderly grandmothers who look after the kids
We do not only feed them with food, but also with the word of God so that they can been couraged to stand up and move on with love and trust in the Lord. We have started a community Church under a mango tree where they gather every Sunday for prayers and a Sunday school for the young ones.
ウガンダのセンパラさんよりメールが届きました。
センパラさんと交流を始めた当初(1990年代)は手紙でやりとり、その後ファックス、現在はEメール。やりとりが簡単にできるようになったとはいえ、ウガンダの電気事情は不安定なところがあるようです。
届いたメールを少しずつ紹介したいと思います。

I begin by sending these photos of this young orphan girl called Oliver. She lost her parents shortly after birth and she is HIV positive like many other around here. We support her by seeing that she gets her drugs in time and that she eats well and that she attends school as you can see in the photos attached.
ウガンダ支援を引き継ぐ安房西高校JRC部員のみなさんが、先月末校内文化祭で支援バザーを行いました。
今年で22年目。そう…現役の高校生からすれば、生まれる前からの活動なんです。
歴史ある活動に驚きながらも、先輩たちの思いやウガンダの子どもたちの思いを大切にしながら、活動を続けています。
